Launching out – I was recently listening to some talks on large-scale shifts in this millennium. I was challenged by some of the figures that the speaker was giving that describe some of the wonderful things that God is doing on a global level in our time. Nineteen out of twenty people coming to Christ are under the age of 25. If people are over 25, they have a 1 in 50,000 chance of coming to the Lord after age 35. If a person hasn’t come to the Lord by age 45, the chances shift to 1 in 200,000.
The young people of this generation are not only the largest mission field, they are also some of the most daring and innovative leaders, willing to reach out and risk all in reaching the lost.
Just a few days ago we began an eight-month journey with a group of energetic young interns. They came to be a part of a program we called Launchpad.
We see many youth today wanting to make a difference and see the world won back to the Lord. What they need are mentors who can come alongside them and champion their dreams. They need someone to help them navigate the path to see their ideas become a reality.
We have designed Launchpad to be an active, hands-on learning environment for the growth and release of young leaders and innovators.
Just last night we sent the class out into the heart of Madison. They had five dollars each. We gave them a number of objectives to complete. They went out to encounter the heart of God for our crazy city. As they spent time praying for the city onsite and interacting with the locals, God was pouring out His heart in and through them. They boldly shared with a variety of people, young and old, who Jesus is.

Yes! God so wants to be known in our neighborhoods and towns and in the nations of the earth! Today’s youth are key messengers in seeing that come about!
One of our ministry leaders from South America has said that leadership is akin to the process of bending down and allowing another to get on one’s shoulders. It is then, raising them up so that they can see farther than the one carrying them, and, in the end, go on to a horizon that the one carrying them may never get to see.
We are both excited and honored to be a part of seeing the next generation of world changers raised up as they encounter the love of God full force and then go out to the streets and share it with each person they encounter.
