Group picture with John StensonIt has already been 3 months that we have been here in ASL DTS! We are truly humbled and honored to have been able to experience many different things that God wanted to show us during our lecture phase. We are pleased with the leaders that came here to share God’s heart in different perspectives. We cannot explain how much we have grown in so many areas in our lives. We are undoubtedly grateful.

Last weekend, we had the opportunity to visit one of our leaders, Dan McClelland’s home in Mercer, Pennsylvania. The McClelland family overwhelmed us with their warmth, love, and hospitality. If there is a definition of “amazing hospitality,” the McClelland family would be one of the first names to appear. We want to take the time to make several personal thank yous to Dan’s parents: Patty and Rick McClelland for sharing their home and community with us; to Liz Witmer for making us feel comfortable and welcome at the farm; and last, but not least, we want to thank Dehan Courtney for allowing us to ride his horses around the farm. We enjoyed good food, good testimonies, and definitely had a good rest! The McClellands hosted a fellowship event on Saturday night where they invited everybody they knew in Mercer to come and meet us! We had a bonfire set up. We had endless tables with plenty of food to share. We met amazing people with inspiring testimonies. It was heart-warming for us to know that the people from Mercer are like family to us now. We want to thank everyone who came to that bonfire event and please do continue to pray for our group.

For our last week of our lecture phase, we had John Stenson come down from Wisconsin to share his heart for evangelism. However, John did not come by himself, but also brought his family with him. His wife Becca and his kids, Elliot, Annie, and Leif happily joined the bandwagon! John did not only share his testimonies, but his passion to share Jesus’ love for people in this world. He was truly fired up with the Holy Spirit and we were honored to experience the same with him. He emphasized that evangelism is not about what you know, but who you know. He taught us that God is such a loving Father with so much patience, more than we realize. John also motivated us to recognize that simple obedience leads to a greater accomplishment. John was the perfect leader to end our lecture phase. He wrapped things up for us in the most delightful way as possible.

Now that our lecture phase has ended, we are looking forward for our outreach phase. We will be going to several universities in the east coats and Israel. We will also be helping out with David’s Tent DC. You can find out more information about David’s Tent DC through this link: http://www.davidstentdc.org/ If you are around the area, come and check that tent out! It is right behind the White House.

Over all, God truly is an awesome God. The more we ask of Him, the more He will reveal Himself. There is a saying that goes, “DTS is a honeymoon with Jesus.” We could not agree more!

About mstenson

I am one of the worship leaders at Lamb of God. I am married to a Proverbs 31 woman. What a blessing she is to me! We have three children and nine grandchildren. I enjoy bicycling, time with family, worship, the Word of God, and guitar (not in that order). :-)
